What is an active user?
Our pricing is tiered based on the number of 'active users'. This is defined as the number of unique users who log in to your LMS in a given month.

How is Synap's pricing calculated?
Our pricing model is very simple. We offer two plans, Starter and Standard, both of which contain the same core functionality and experience. Standard is priced higher, but comes with additional features such as the ability to sell your courses online, set up a custom domain and SCORM compliance.

Whichever plan you choose, pricing is tiered based on the number of active users on your platform. Additional users cost £4/m, with the price per user reducing as you increase in size.

If you are going over your plan to the point where it would be cheaper to move you on to a higher plan, we will do this automatically so that you are always getting the best deal.

Finally, we offer a 15% discount for annual billing. You can switch from monthly to annual, or vice versa, at any time.

Do you offer discounts for non-profits, public sector & early-stage companies?
Yes! Please get in touch with us if you'd like to discuss further. If you are a UK-based public sector organisation, it's worth bearing in mind that we is a Crown Commercial Service supplier, and you may want to look at Synap's Digital Marketplace listing.

What payment methods do you accept?
Our preference is to set up a recurring card subscription via Stripe, which is a highly secure, industry-leading payment gateway. For enterprise clients we can also arrange for payment by invoice or direct debit.
Can I try Synap before buying?
Yes - all of our plans come with a no-obligation, 14-day free trial and we do not require your card details in order to access the trial. During the trial, you will have access to all the features of Synap, and will be invited to an onboarding session with a member of our team to learn a bit more about your requirements and show you the various features of the system.

What happens if I want to cancel / downgrade my plan?
No problem, get in touch with us and we'll arrange this to take effect from your next billing cycle. If you require an export of your data, we'll also send this to you upon request.

What is a Monthly Active User, and what happens if I go over my plan limit?
We count a Monthly Active User (MAU) as someone who logs in to your Synap environment in a given month. The benefit of tracking activity this way, is that it means you can provide all of your staff or students with a Synap account, and will only be charged based on those who actually use it. If you go slightly over your limit in a given month, it's not a problem. If you are consistently exceeding your plan limit, we will charge you a small, pro-rata fee or may suggest that you upgrade your account to a higher plan (whichever is most cost effective for you).


What about my data?
Absolutely. We take data security and privacy very seriously. Our infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services servers located in Ireland (EU). All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We have completed the UK Government's Cyber Essentials certification, which you can view here.
